Went back bc the guitars and the bass reek with mud. Tried to clean them best I could but they were quite a moving target. The guitars werent aggressive enough for the song, I thought. So spent a bit more time to give them some fangs instead of the previous denture, by shaving the top end of the kick, so the guitars can show some ivory. Was able to bring up the bass up a tiny hair trying to beef it up on the low end. Right now, I think it's awesome. This is one of the rarer moments when I can get a mix to exactly where I want, no matter how sucky it is to others. I am sure I'll find some faults in this newly awesome mix of mine tomorrow or the next, but for now I just want to cradle it in my arms like a baby, no matter how hairy or deformed, because, after all, it still sounds somewhat humanoid.
