How I Mix To Memphis

Hello There!
This is my mix to this song. I make it in FL studio. I welcome any comments.
I leave out the distorted guitars in background. I don’t think this song requires that. This keep the song much clearer and more transparent. I try using not too many effect (delay, reverb), for natural feeling.

I delete the first version. 2nd version:
I built up the whole drum sound from the zero. The cymbals are less loud and harsh. The snare also got better. The lead vocal is brighter.

good call on leaving the distorded guitars out.

The main issue for me here are the drums and vocals:
The vocals are very dark and muddyin comparison to the rest of the mix. The drums on the other hand are very bright the cymbals sound harsh to me.
I would try bringing them both to a happy medium
