Cool Jazz is great to mix because there is so little that needs to be done to make it good, but there are a hundred tiny things to make it sound great. Smooth, spacious, clean and LOTS of air - as you would expect if you saw the band perform in an Amsterdam live room.
Mix details:
Mild compression on the piano and bass.
NO eq on drums or bass. Only mild EQ on piano.
NO FX on anything, only a bit of room verb on OHs to bring out some space.
Mild master buss comp (1-2db) and very mild EQ to reduce some harshness.
Very slow tube limiter to finish.
