Blues Bastards - Lights Out (unmastered)
#1
Hi guys,

I did a quick mix of this track today, let me know what you think.

It's been great fun to play around with this track!

Thanks,
Jordan.

I'll let others comment on other stuff but I'm curious what did you did to the snare?  Did you put a tight delay on it?  Whatever you've done, the double snare is too much, it's a bit loud, and the result is that it distracts from the rest of your work.

Thanks for the feedback. I can put a slight slapback echo delay on it and upon listening back, definitely too loud! probably doesn't even need to be there, I just liked the tonality and vibe of it. Thank you.

I agree, the slapback is really confusing. Theres also a lot of midrange in the drums, that fills out too much space in the mix and leaves too little space for the other tracks. I would love to hear the other tracks more clearly, they seem to be nicely eq'ed. Everthing else regarding balance and compression works well for my taste.

I have taken away that awful snare delay and balanced out the midrange a little more. Let me know what you think, I really appreciate it.
