Glen McPhee - A Sailor Once More
#1
Hasn't been much in the singer songwriter, RB, country, jazz, straight ahead rock and roll vein on the site here in a while.
This one looked kinda fun.
I was a little disappointed that they gave us a  single "drum kit" track with all the drums pre-mixed.
I prefer getting drum sound on individual drums.
Still fun though.
Here's a first pass with no automation... Cool

Did some tweaks on the original...(still no automation) . This second one is version 2.0

Yeah, man. When I saw the track with just a kit, I knew I was in for a rough ride and ready for a world of hurt. But no, not too bad, I came out black-and-blue yeah but no blood. Awesome mix. The only thing I can say is the chorus drop could be a tad stronger. perhaps the "kit" is holding you back here. I like the vocal a lot, also the piano. The shakers seem to be buried in the mix, not that it matters that much, but it'll be nicer and it's there Smile. Great work! Cheers!
