Little Chicago's Finest: My Own
#1
I quite like this track - been listening for a couple of days and not really sure what to do with it yet.
There are more tracks in this project than I usually work with so it's been useful to get out of my comfort zone, but will have to listen some more to figure out how to make it "different" from the original.
Panned the reverse cymbal and added reverb to the backing vocals, compressed the drums and it sounds ok - any feedback would be welcome.

Mixed on Adobe Audition and EQ'd using T-Racks.

Have been fiddling round with this track for some time myself :-) Like the kick and bass sound. The vocals sound boxy and undefined to me, they have too much room for my taste. Can't really define where they're located at. Also, some parts have lots of sibilance. May be my speakers, but there's some really sharp ss in there. Like the way you mixed the piano a lot. Not as widely panned as the original and this makes it work better in the song I feel. The synth could have a bit more body for my taste. Thx for posting!
