my take on Good Time
#1
This was fun. Tried to channel some Blood Sugar Sex Magik into the mixing, hopefully succeeded in some degree. I didn't use reference tracks, so take it for what it is, just an affective intention. : )

Looking forward reading your opinions on this one!

Your approach to Blood Sugar Sex Magik is great, you nailed it .
I wold lower the floor tom a little bit (my ear bled a little every time it hits Smile
And add a tiny bit of presence to the vocal .
But overall I liked it

Super happy about the "nailed" bit, thank you Nanoweb! : )

I can see what you're saying about the floor tom. I pictured it in a bass boosted system and it would be ear bleeding indeed. I'll do a revision with more controlled fundamentals and probably bring the floor tom towards the center in the stereo field.

About the vocals, it'll be worth trying some things and see where it leads. Thanks!

Done! I've dealt with the toms, brightened the vocals, cleaned some low mids from the guitar bus and gave the bass drum more kick. : )
