MonarchAudio Mix! Avoiding samples and triggers
#1
Really dig this track so I decided to have a little fun and see how far I could go without using samples or triggers.
Drums are the original stems with some compression and EQ and all are routed to a drum bus (parallel compression) sending the snare mostly to give it that pump. After that it goes to an instrument bus where the drums and other instruments live.
The amped guitars sounded great but didn't really capture the tone I was looking for so I used the DI's and ran them through the Omega Granophyre Amp from NDSP
For bass tones I created two bass tracks. I liked the sound of the DI so i decided to compress it slightly with a limiter to bring the gain back up. I chose to not EQ it and instead went with a Multiband compressor just to tame the lows and keep the integrity of the DI.
The amped tracks is a similar process but with an instance of Parallax from NDSP.
I'ts quite a bit to type but im happy to answer anything!
Cheers
