The Doppler Shift - Atrophy
#1
Hey guys,

Gave this song a spin.
This reminded me of Dove, in the verse part mostly
I've tried some automation on the drums in the chorus part, just to lift it a bit
Nice song to mix, thanks a lot for the multitracks

Let me know what you think

Cheers

Hi filipandrei, really nice improvement on your original mix (which was quite nice as well)... Especially noticeable with the drums -t he snare sounds great! Also much better dynamic contrast between the verse and chorus too.

A few things that might help:
- The bass is maybe just a tad too loud overall - not bad, but it could come down a touch to clear the mix up overall.
- The vocals have a little bit of low mid cloudiness in them and could perhaps use a little bet of a slight high midrange push.
- The kick drum is lacking a bit of definition. It's not too bad in the verses (the snare is perhaps a bit loud in the verses, though). But when the choruses come in, the kick drum is getting pretty lost. Maybe a little more level on the kick in the chorus, and perhaps just a tiny bit of a high mid boost on the kick to get the transient to poke through a little more.

Overall, very nice!

Hi FytaKyte,

Thanks a lot for listening and for your thorough feedback
Every little point you made is spot on Smile
- bass might come a bit lower
- snare too loud
- kick it's not too well defined, lost in the mix
- vocal might need a bit more air or just get rid of some low-mid frequencies

Cheers
