Atlantis Bound - It Was My Fault - Silona Mix
#1
Hey,
Still a newcomer, this is my proper second mix.
I tried to stick to the genre as much as possible, maybe over did it a bit with the solo guitar... but I love its sound and such a beautiful classy old school solo. Thought it deserved the old 70's rock sound Smile
Looking forward to read your comments and learn and improve!
Thanks!

Hi

Overall there're a lot of nice things in yout mix. I do, however, have a coouple of remarks:

Drums sounds and feels loud.
Kick is very .... fluffy. Perhaps a little more bite woud be nice.
Very nice vocal treatment
Nice piano delay, although piano in genral is a bit to the low side
Guitars sounds rhythm guitars sounds ... well, phased, if that makes any sense.
Nice delay on the guitar solo

Hope you can use any of it

Keep it up and stay healthy
I have a Polish friend, who is a sound engineer. Oh, and a Czech one too.

Hi!

Thank you so much for your feedback!
I agree with you on the drums note. Also I find the snare hit too strong.
Yeah I still haven't picked up any skill with phasing so I assume the guitars, and probably also the kick and snare are in need of phasing treatment. Any good tips on where I can learn some of it? (I can always google to find out, just in case you know of a great source).

Thank you so much for your kind review!

Hey Silona,

I would suggest trying to mix the song without any reverb and delay. You have a lot of fx going on and removing them should help you reagrding the balance of your mix. The drums are pretty loud, while the guitars are very quiet.

Cheers,
Lukas Angel

I hope you check out my mix of the song: https://discussion.cambridge-mt.com/show...?tid=23117
