Carol Dant: 'I Am The Desert'

Carol Dant: 'I Am The Desert'

This was a challenging one. I had to tune, align and edit the vocal tracks and other instruments. I think the results were worth it. Let me know your opinions about my work. Total time of mixing: 4 hours and 30 minutes with some brakes.

I like the relaxed feel of the drums and I think you've done a good job of giving all the tracks their own space. I feel like the vocals could be a bit more forward at times, especially the first verse. Speaking of, I think there's a few mis-tuned notes in there: "darkness" "desert", "onus". I like the delay on the second guitar solo, but it might benefit from sidechain compression against the guitar track as it gets a little muddy at times. I think there's also room to push the macro dynamics more without losing the feel you've got going on. The vocal panning was interesting and a fresh take compared to the other versions I've listened to.
Unless otherwise noted, I've listened through Sony MDR-7506s when giving feedback.
