The 'Mix Rescue' mix
#1
Here's the mix I did of this track for Sound On Sound magazine's April 2008 'Mix Rescue' column, using only Cubase SX2's bundled plug-ins and a few additional bits of freeware such as the BuzzRoom's BuzComp FreeWindows Software compressor bundle, various freeware GVST plug-insWindows Software, and Christian Knufinke's SIRWindows Software.

Hi Mike,

It seems they crossed the OH mikes during recording session R=L and L=R, for me it explained a lot, for example the phase problems in the drums.
Unless the drummer is left handed (he isn't) the HH should sound from the right speaker. But reality with OH panned out stereo LL and RR, the HH comes from the left (hence wrong) side, hahahaha. Tongue So crossing the panning of the OH did it for me anyway.

Cheers,
Luc
