Mixing Information for Of Ice And Hopeless Fate
#1
Hi guys! I'm Matteo, the main guitarist and vocalist of the band Storm Of Particles Smile here are some information and tips for the mix:

Project is sampled in 44.1 Khz
Tempo is 130 BPM

You will find inside the archive all the 10 mics of the drum + the 5 close mics triggered in midi if you want to use your own samples.

You will also find DI tracks for guitars + amped tracks for guitars if you don't have any VST.

The files named ElecGtr01->03DI are recorded with an acoustic guitar and should be mixed without distortion.

The files named ElectGtr04 -> 07 can be mixed already amped or you can use your VST to amp the files marked with "DI".

The goal with this track is to give a great punch as i did in my mix and also create a great atmosphere that has to reach is highest during the clean guitar parts!

Have a great time mixing the song and a happy new year to everyone of you! Smile

I have the same issue as Takka, the guitars are all DI and no MIDI is included. Also, what did you guys use guitar wise on the rack, the intro guitars sound like a DI from an acoustic.

Cheers, and thanks for the Multis,
Doug

My bad! I'll add those in tomorrow. Apologies.

Thank you very much guys for pointing this out. I've updated the main post including a link to download the MIDI for the 5 close mics. I'm currently downloading the full project now to check if there are also all the electric guitar amped files.

@dcp10200 all the guitars have been recorded through a DI and yes, the clean guitars tracks are recorded with an acoustic guitar. Smile

Have a nice day!

EDIT: i've deleted the link from the main post, the Admin will update the files Smile

Nope. It's only the first three guitars that are only DI. The rest should be amp and DI.

OK. I've added in the MIDI file for the drum parts, so the full-multitrack ZIP should now include that. My apologies again for the initial oversight.

Incidentally, just to be transparent about all this, all the multitracks in the library (at least all those hosted on my servers) are reformatted by me before upload (a) to minimise download filesizes, (b) to conform filenames with the other downloads, and © to a certain extent to anonymise the filenames. Although in the real world mixers do occasionally have additional information about how the tracks were recorded, I think it's more educational for users to approach the recordings 'blind' to this information (and this library is intended as an educational resource), so if it's within the submitted filenames I remove it. However, I also realise that some people do like to have that information while mixing, which is why I try to put that information in these 'About The Multitrack' Discussion Zone threads. It means that the information's there in case people want it, without it being thrust upon them within the filenames. Hope that makes sense!

Cheers,

Mike S.

PS. Also, as snabaz is perpaps too modest to mention Smile this track is taken from Storm Of Particles's upcoming album 'Gaea Hypothesis', which is out on 27 january 2018, so (as always with artists kind enough to contribute to this multitrack library), so show your appreciation for the band's contribution by supporting their music!

Thank Mike for your work and for giving me the chance during this last year to improve drastically my mixing skills; it permitted to make my first album production. I really appreciate your work and this is nearly nothing to repay the favor that you did to me. Have a great day and happy new year to you again!
