Well this was a fun one, especially if you're a Philly boy like me. So I gave it my best Gamble & Huff in a relatively quick get for me. It's kind of thick around the middle and maybe the drums are too present in places, but I like the feel and the groove of it and I hope you do to.

This is just a remastering of the same mix as above but with some woofy lows filtered while still trying to maintain tone in the low end. Not sure I'm quite there yet, What do you think?
Used multi-band compression on the master to give more depth to the bottom while trying to minimize low-mid honk. This is a new mix.
Dumped the dynamic and went with filtering and parallel compression mods. I think it gives the full bottom without the woof.
I just couldn't leave well enough alone and after doing some reference listening to the likes of Boz Skaggs and Sanford and Townsend, I went to the mat again on this with a new mix and new master. Tightened everything I could tighten to ring every ring out of the tracks and ring every ounce of punch and pop and tone I could muster out of the song at the same time. I got closer to what I was hearing in my head with this. Not sure why I struggled so much with it.
I'd love to know what you think of the various versions.
Which one is your favorite and what did you listen to it on?
