Hey man, how did you get the cymbals so tame in this mix?? The overheads are super unbalanced in the raw recording

I guess it's a combination. The OH's are low-cut, limited lightly and using Reapers stereo-tool, anything below 800Hz is in mono, and anything above is spread out a little bit, then EQ'd a good bit of between 2.5K and 5K out. In order to get a good snare sound, the guitar-track that has a lot of snare-bleed has a compressor on it that is keyed by the snare's spot mic. This way, the GT-track is ducked every time there is a snare-hit, making it easier to also make a balanced OH sound
