'Corine Corrina' Don Gibson dedication
#1
Don Gibson was my grandfather, and he was a jazz trumpet player (and hairdresser) from Adelaide, South Australia.

He died aged 84, some time ago now.

I enjoyed aligning the beautiful room mics to achieve my mix. There are many small time and phase corrections needed, but I think it pays off.

The only added reverb is on the vocal.

I like it. Nice balance, nice tone. I think the main changes of arrangement are nicely present in your mix.

Some minor ideas to test if plan to do second version:
- vocal sound is nice but (maybe) sounds too dark when I listen at low volume. The trick could be slighty down the bass side of vocals and turn volume 1-2 dB up. Or carve some room in the mid range in the band buss for vocals.
- hi-hats could be opened just a little bit, but not much to preserve the old sound.
