Diesel 13 - Colour me red
#1
hi! tried to get it tight, natural and powerfull. the mainvocal i struggled a bit making it fit in... feedback welcome! (i would like to do some mastering on it later)

revised version: tried to make it a little tighter and mastered it (i don't mean i am now a master of any sort, but i like 'mastered' the stereotrack. used the master eq from tokyo dawn labs and liked it)

Cool Remix great ideas here ,Nice to hear a different version !
I can hear your struggle getting the lead vox to fit ,could be because it is competing with a combination of many vocals ,Not sure maybe making multiple copies of lead vocals may help thicken it up a touch or thin out the Bv's a touch.
Just some thoughts !

Well Done Big Grin

thanks for the positive feedback on the editing. i don't consider this a 'remix' though.

*if the band and/or producer went through the trouble recording 24 tracks of unison backing vocals i feel they consider this an important part of the song, which i tried to translate in the mix.
*my focus was on trying to get the groove right. making the drums, bass, guitars and rhodes work together to get a natural, strong and coherent whole (to which the backing vocals contribute nicely i think).
*i might try another version later, maybe with some slapdelay on the main-vocals.

feedback welcome!

Real Nice loupi!

The only real issue I'm hearing is the main vox is sounding a little underwhelming. Sounds like it could do with being beefed up somehow to sit with the backing vocals and more importantly, take control. I thinking some form of parallel comp and or distortion, even as you say, a slapback delay, even with some distortion added. Pushing this up just under the main vocal a little may be magic. I think with what you have achieved so far, this would be worth exploring.Big Grin

Well Done

Where the drums come in doesn't sound all that natural, but I love the reinterpretation. I agree that the vocal needs to sound more important / louder / exciting. There's that ringing harmonic on the acoustic guitar again...

IMHO the vocal effect is at odds with the natural / acoustic nature of your mix vision - it needs to be more upfront and natural I feel. Otherwise it's a really original take on the song - nice work!
