Hi all,

My friends and I chose this song to be the subject for a friendly mix-off. Ultimately I did win the competition, but now I want to hear the peanut gallery's thoughts.

This song presented several challenges as I'm sure anyone who has worked on this song knows. The part that I found most difficult was giving proper weight to the guitars, and making the vocal feel like it belonged with the rest of the band.

I did do a bit of production work that I felt made the song a little more complete and thought out.

This was really my first time delving into this Genre, so any advice, critique and tips you have for me are much appreciated.

Listening on earbuds.
A couple of things jumped out at me, and I think you nailed them in your description.
- the guitar on the right is a tad too loud. Especially the picking sections.
- the singer has a very thin voice, so something is needed to fill it out. Low harmonies, saturation, distortion, something to anchor it with the heavy feel of the song.

On the plus side, the drums sound really nice, sold hits, no sloppy ghost notes, just ... clean.
And the bass guitar sounds solid without being overpowering.
