What Have You Done To Me - Jakobsen
#1
I reckon Vocal needs some more automation but parallel compression did a fine job with low volumes.

I hope you enjoy the mix.

Feedback is welcome!

Saludos.

V2 with less harshness and lower volume (to prevent clipping distortion)

hi Shul
I Like your mix one i have to have another try at soon.
Maybe a touch less upper mids as Sounds a little harsh around the 2.5 k area especially the vocals and the guitars.
I Can post an eqed version of your cool mix on my monitors to see how it sounds on your monitors just for a little experiment if you like.
Cheers Big Grin

I think I liked the first version better. I feel like you lost a lot of the clarity in the second one. Almost like its been normalized.

I think mix version 1 is on the money with Thedon's eq suggestion.. the drums are handled well also.. At this point of mix I would apply the UA SSL Gbuss compressor (optional) to give the mix parts "glue".. Applying a limiter on the stereo main will give it loudness/volume but choosing a master buss compressor plug will give it the "glue" first.. Extra step would be to use the UA ATR102 master tape on 15ips (optional). These are my preferences in plugs but anything similar in use would provide the same suggested application. Good work
