my mix of the Forkupine song, would love to hear input, i know its not the brightest mix, that is intentional but hopefully not bad dull. cheers!

I think perhaps this sort of effect goes over better if the prominent bits (the guitar up front, the vocals, cymbals, kick) are a little brighter to fill in the space you left by cutting that elsewhere. It also helps the listener's ears not feel like there's something missing.

Wow, your second mix is nice. That bass sound is awesome.
The snare could cut through a bit more, but apart from that I like your mix. Keep it up!

The reverb on that hi-hat up front is perfect. Nice kick sound, too. Good and tight and definitely there but not excessively up front as tends to happen on some of my mixes (because I really like a good beater sound).
