Hey all,
I just discovered these Cambridge multitracks, so I tried mixing this song today. It's my first time mixing a song from multitracks like this (other mixing has all been things I've recorded myself) so I'd love some feedback. Thanks!
Personally I like this mix, but I'd like to make the kick a little more present without having it sound artificial or overpowering. I'd also like the vocals to sit a little better in the mix and not be so bright, I think it might have to do with both the exciter and reverb I have on it.
I had no idea until just now that this is/was apparently the most popular song to mix from the Cambridge multitracks? I just picked it because it was a small file. But after starting another project which has a lot more files and needs a LOT more TLC, I can see why this song is so popular... the recording is so clean it basically doesn't need much mixing at all past basic leveling, eq, comp, and a little reverb.
