Another attempt at a 1 hour mix (okay i cheated and spent over an hour on this one - but I still have a ways to go yet)
Things I took away from this:
Making little fixes to the tracks before mixing made a huge difference - I could focus on using automation just to help with the feel of the track and not have to worry about fixing audio bumps
on a track with this much bleed, using a gate was definitely not a good idea as the sound of the guitar would suddenly change when the gated instrument played
I never checked my mix in mono as I edited and as a result it sounds pretty awful without the full stereo
I also forgot to check for phase issues so I'll make a point of doing that in future
All in all I think I learned a bit .. feedback and advice more than welcome
