Just dropping a line, that i did listen to most of your mixes and smile on my face didnt leave most of the time. Such a nice work. Dont want to say "great" as im trying to be as objective as i can. Enjoyed it all the way. Will looking forward to hear your next work. Later ill try to listen it more carefully and perhaps leave a comment. Anyway, happy to hear your work. Regards, Martin.

An awesome mix
I really love the ambient synth / reverb effect (can't quite identify by ear alone) over the clean guitar at the start. I also love the effect you've put under the vocals at 1:18
Can't fault it at all - I don't know what speakers or headphones you used but it sounds awesome on my headphones and Krk monitors. You certainly have no issue with mix translations on other systems to your own
Excellent job!

Wow, thanks Ben!
The effect at the beginning is actually the clean guitar riff reversed, time stretched and run through a pretty convoluted chain of fx in Guitar Rig 4. The effect on the vocals in the 2nd verse is a Antares Harmony Engine set for an octave up pitch shift, doubled and run very wet into Valhalla Room reverb. I wasn't in love with the octave up vocal track supplied, so I created my own version.
My monitors are Yamaha HS50s with a HS10 sub. I've been using these monitors for many years now, and my mix room gives me a fairly even frequency response at the mix position. Still, I tend to reference professional mixes pretty heavily too, so the combination of those things helps me to feel more confident about mix translation.
I rarely mix on headphones, but I do check my mixes on a set of Sennheiser HS650s.
Thanks for listening and commenting!
