I'm not familiar with this style either, as we're from the west side of the pond, so I feel you. There are good elements to your mix, though. The cheap sounding piano part has been transformed into something much easier on the ears by the blend with the surrounding pads.
Honestly, I think if you nixed the peaking boosts on the kick and instead used the bass synth as the primary source of low frequency energy, reduce the highs (especially on the noise track) and turn down the vocals while enahcning the bottom end instruments, everything would come together much better. You're not too far off, you're just going for sonics more suited to your prefered genre. We ALL fall in that trap sometimes!
