I like your Idea , I usually get a rough balance of all tracks then eq the master bus to get the mix to translate on my monitors and then do some eq and compression on the individual tracks.
listening to your latest version I eqed your mix to my taste on my monitors maybe the vocals could be tamed around the 180 hz easily sorted with a dynamic eq.
This is another one I have to remix .
