I like your mix 2 better, less of the drone, more space for percussion. I really like how you created depth for some of the percussion items! I animated the drone too, some filter sweep - otherwise it is too static.
Personally, I went percussion forward and drone all the way in the background (more like a supporting tapestry). Interesting how much this track can be shaped through mixing :-)
