Great, this first mix is pretty good already and does not have many of the obvious rookie mistakes (Still considering myself a rookie, lolz)
Some suggestions:
- The upright bass in the beginning is extremly compressed, because its the only thing it's very obvious, I would tone down the compression and automate it
- Push back the vocal back a bit - it dominates the mix and instruments are pretty quiet
- De-ess the vocal, lots of sibilance
- Kinda feels like you are not using the stereo spectrum to its potential, imo a wide stereo spread fits this kinda music
- Bring the sfx down in favor of the music, it should be the focus
- Push some of the percussion back (LP-Filter, Reverb and/or lower volume)
General Tips:
- Automate stuff! (e.g. in the end the piano dominates the vocal)
- Arrange stuff! (Build intesity and keep it intresting)
Keep it up, awesome as a first mix.
