About the remaster...
I like the overall added width.
Intro is also better, can´t put the finger on what it is, it´s better
After the drums come in.. then eq curve doesn´t translate 100% nice on my system. In lack of better words, it sounds eq:ed, not natural. To me, on my system, my "master" translates more natural in the hi mids.
Did you add a compressor to the track? I think I hear something pulling the level in the intro.
What did you do for the widening effect? Something else than adding gain to the side? Maybe a light touch of reverb?
Can you expand on what you wanted to do but couldn´t because of "headroom"? Don´t you mean dynamic range?
I appreciate you took the time and also put up your version here. I bet more people have taken a shot at it. I will add unlimited version of my next mix too. Hopefully more will follow as many of us want to practice mastering as well.
