Ok Cool. As far as the OHs, I just hear one of the cymbals having a resonant overtone that peaks out a bit. There's a frequency that is louder than the rest. It could just be how I'm hearing it.
I do the same with bass mostly to anchor the low end and having the option of "dialing in" the definition of the bass without losing the low end.

It doesn't have to sound good. People just need to think it sounds good.
