I'm just learning myself and am no expert but maybe try cutting a little between 100-300hz with a slightly wide Q to get rid of some of the 'mud' and this will allow it to have more overall volume and "edge" as it goes through the mastering chain. This may sound more violent as you put it. The mix is fairly well balanced overall from what I can hear. Good job.
