Same here (I strugled to get decent low end), the raw kick drum track is poorly recorded or kick drum is not tuned properly. Otherwise if it suits your needs then it's fine, thicker sample might take too much headroom.
Without proper monitors it's very hard to do anything as I left mine in former location.
