thanks! yea it took a while really. its just been one i've had in the background for a while. took me a while to get happy with the sound, especially the guitars. have to say i'm not a big fan of that tom sound. couldn't do much with it really. the vocal in the first verse has a bit of decapitator on it and the same with the middle breakdown vocal part but the rest is fairly clean. there was some de-essing, compresion, eq and saturation going on. controlling the dynamics of the vocal performance was quite a challenge. but a i used a lot of clip gain and automation for that. i see what you mean about the mastered on the your mix. its very squeezed.
