Hi!
I mixed this nice song using a channel strip avalon 737 and a varimu compressor in all separate tracks (Eq and Dynamics)
All tracks were printed in pro tools using the avid hd i/o converters
I used the fabfilter eq to fine adjustments
In a drum subgroup, I used the (TOKYO DAWN LABS - TDR nova) to add more ''AIR''
The mix was made with summing mixer. I used the Focusrite 2802 and a Stereo Manley Varimu.
To master, I used just a TC Finalizer 96k
Welcome!
Overall, it feels ok. It feels a little 'flat' and lacks excitement. Subdued may be a better term. It's almost shy.
Individually the instruments are fine tonally but it doesn't feel jelled together.
The vocal is fine tonally but could be out in front just a little more. The group vocals sit well.
It's a good mix but I think it could definitely be taken up a notch. It needs some more excitement.
Welcome Roger,
Your mix sounds amazing to me. Very clean and smooth. Drums sound fantastic and the levels all seem perfect. I can hear everything so clearly (except that horrible snare_down which I guess you replaced?). It's bouncy and dynamic, and the loudness is just right.
Looking forward to hearing more mixes from your analog setup :-).
All the best, Graham (IRONWORK).

Hi, Graham,
I do appreciate your comments. Concerning the bottom, I kept the original sound in low volume and put a gate to fast release. I've mixed two other songs: Tiring, by RaftMonk, and Dark Horses, by The Long Wait.
I hope we keep in touch. :-)
Best regards,
