This one has got "thedon" written all over it. I reckon I could have picked it with a blind fold on.
V2 sounding great, larger than life in fact! I'm maybe just hearing some harshness or too much of the overheads. This may have been emphasized with some compression settings on the drum bus? You might be able to tame them with a transient controller just to kill off some of the sustain and make them sound a little more defined.

That’s got some energy! The cymbals are screaming. Maybe a little overcooked on the overhead compression. Wrangle those in and it’ll be rockin’ Nice one Don.
We're all just a bunch of freqs in this crazy world.

Thanks for the feedback I went a little silly with parallel compression.

Hey Don,
very nice mix, great use of ambience. Only the drums need tweaking everything else is awesome:
I think the Kick could use a little less of the room sound and more of the body. Also the sound is a bit washed out by the amount of cymbals I would bring those back. Also the toms don't have anything left there were reduced to clicks. Maybe look at your compressors. (1:06)

I listened to your second mix. If you want the cymbals that prominent I would balance the Subkick and Bass against it. Right now it sounds thin and almost a bit harsh to me.
