This is my quickest attempt of a mix only had a spare hour so far using reaper ,reaq, recomp and a free omniverb reverb on the master buss .
Any advice for version 2 ,will have a listen to other versions tomorrow !
Hi, Don! This is the song I've just downloaded to mix next. I don't know how the raw tracks sound, but I would try to make the banjo a little bit fatter and I would change the reveb on the vocals, I don't like how it sounds (but this is something very personal because lately I've been listening to a very good album full of this style of music and I have a very clear idea of what I want my mix to sound!)
But for being a quick mix, it sounds quite good. A little bit of more work on it, can make it sound great!

Thanks for having a listen !
I have gone from one extreme to another on this one , usually I spend many hours and tend to over hype my mixes Lol .This is the raw mics and Di with just the low end rolled off which definitely needs more work .

Thanks Juanjose !
I didn't have much of an idea for reference material for this song I just used the preview video as a guide ,any recommendations for reference music for this genre would be great .
Hi, Don! the CD I've been listening to lately was from a group called "the common linnets" and I've used their song 'Where Do I go with me' as a reference for my mix (probably tomorrow it will be ready)
Nothing of real note to add. Maybe BGV could do with extra compression - at the level that you've chosen (which sounds good btw) it also highlights the relatively explosive delivery of the live performance - more noticeable on "when" at .47 and particularly "run" at .51. But with all the spill flying around, compression may well suck up something you don't want, so maybe a fader ride is better.
