Hi Mementus, I like the overall balances and punch in your mix. The aesthetic direction of the mix is in the right spot. As Roy mentioned, there is an issue with the overall eq curve of the mix. It has a really big spike centred around 7-8k which is resulting in it being overly bright and harsh. My guess is that it might be a monitoring issue, because otherwise, this is quite nicely done.

One thing that is really noticeable in headphones is that the snare hits are resonating in the floor tom mic. If you put headphones on, you can hear the floor tom resonating in sympathy with every snare hit in the left channel quite loudly. One of the issues with the drum recording is that the toms are very open and resonant, so it is best to mute the toms when they are not being hit.

I am experimenting with a multiband compressor on the mixbus. I have divided it in 3 bands and have 5 db boosted the highs area. This could be the main culprit for the "overly bright" part.
I will treasure all your suggestions
