Prusinski - Sorry Girl
#1
Prusinski - Sorry Girl

Some really good guitar work here, which I tried to voice as best I could. Lots of nuance if you get deep down into it.
My biggest challenge was finding the energy in the song and enhancing that as much as I could. As a result, there is a good bit of automation in the guitars. Between some clip gain and automated moves, I think I found a good world for the guitars, which really drive the song. Getting the vocals to sit right based upon my approach took some effort but I think I found something good.  There is various delays and judicial use of Eventide's H949 Stereo Harmonizer on the lead vocal. Backgrounds are balanced and compressed as needed on their own discreet buss. The bass kind of set the space for this mix. I put a long delay and reverb on the bass to extend the space for the rest of the mix to reside in. I like the way it shaped the results. The reverbs here are mostly plates.

Prusinski - Sorry Girl - Alt Ending

Added some sub-bass in mastering and changed the ending arrangement (again).

This was mixed in StudioOne using a Waves SSL E Series channel strip on all channels and busses.
