Hello guys.
First a little disclaimer: as I do these mixes as exercises, I feel free to "produce" a bit, adding, removing or changing some material as I feel necessary or interesting. Of course, those modifications are not discussed with the artist and perhaps are not in accordance with their vision. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
MIX:
Drums: didn't use all tracks; totally substituted the kick with a sample; mixed samples on the snare, tried to tame overheads.
Bass: add a lot of saturation to bring it up.
Lead guitars: re-amped and add a "whammy bar".
Piano: re-record that part trying to diminish the similarity with Maroon 5's song.
In general, I muted a lot of small bits, trying to give the song some space for breath and making its parts not less repetitive.
MASTER:
As I'm not much of a master engineer I try not to do much. Only used Waves ARTG Mastering chain, a bit of multiband compression and the limiter. Kept on 14 LUFS.
Feel free to comment.
Thank You.
