Just like my last effort, this was mixed using stock plugins in Reaper. Bass guitar is triplicated and blended as such:
Bass 1 - squeezed and chopped so you only hear from about 800Hz down at a nice steady volume.
Bass 2 - dirty amp sim and high pass around 500Hz.
Bass 3 - mostly dry, just a little compression to tame peaks and some EQ for the pick attack.
Apart from that, the plugins were used rather sparingly. Enjoy!
*EDIT*
I just realized I forgot to pan the toms. Also, when I copied part of the lead guitar track to a new one to avoid panning automation (I'm kinda lazy like that, but I learned engineering on Cool Edit Pro, so that wasn't a thing that was super easy to figure out then), I didn't bring the level down or add any reverb. Both are easy fixes that will be done as soon as I get some free time.
**EDIT**
I fixed those issues last night. The attachment has been updated to the new mixdown. Any feedback is appreciated!
