The Blues Is A Lady Chris93 - Chris93 - 01-03-2015

After a lot of going back and changing stuff I decided I'd got past the point where I was improving anything...

Here's where I am.

Hey Chris.

It sounds like you have a pretty good sounding mix going on......The main thing is that the stereo image is very narrow.

The acugtr intro is fine but when the band comes in the whole image collapses almost into mono....everything seems to be sitting on top of each other and feels very congested.

Do you have access to a correlation metre? It really helps build an effective stereo image.....and also useful for analyzing reference tracks to see what the pros do.

Cheers

Thanks for commenting, you're right about the width.

I think it was one of those ones where I got so focused on other small details that I missed the big picture and forgot to just listen to the mix Smile
