Christmas Blues - MP3 Mix - Dave Boogie - 18-01-2015 Lossy MP3 Mix RE: Christmas Blues - MP3 Mix - Mike Senior - 16-03-2015 Just had a quick listen. Nice natural-sounding balance this, although warmer and more mid-scooped than I went for myself. I reckon you might have de-essed the lead vox a touch too hard, though -- it lisps at times -- while the BVs on the other hand feel too sibilant still. This is a challenge of the multitracks, though, I realise. The sax (and also the guitar maybe) could be blended a touch more, as they both feel a bit stranded, and the drum solo could be brought forward in the depth perspective a bit too -- try automating the piano mic levels for that section, because that dries the drum sound up a lot. (Incidentally, if anyone wants to dry up the snare sound overall, try side-chain ducking the piano mics -- it worked quite well for me at least!) Hope that helps! |
