Cruising the Ice - Mike Z - 26-01-2013 I didn’t think 07-ElecGtr1 fit well with the other tracks. Instead of muting it I chopped it up and placed it in two spots where little else was happening. Here are most other things I did: Replaced many of the weak snare hits with one of the strong ones. Edited the transition around 2:18 in 03_SFX1 to keep the tapping sound for one more measure. Faded 15_Synth out/in three times. Doubled the MIDI bass an octave lower starting around 3:12. High-pass filtered all tracks. Used a little compression on the bass, electric guitars 2 & 3 and mix bus. Added a quarter note (@113 BPM) delay to guitars 2 & 3. Took a lot of EQ off the low & high ends of 04_SFX2. Added short and long reverbs. RE: Cruising the Ice - n3rd - 30-01-2013 Hi Mike, interesting approach, and to me seems it worked nice for this song. Good effort. RE: Cruising the Ice - Mike Z - 02-02-2013 Hi n3rd, Thanks for the comment! I still wonder whether 07_ElecGtr1 really went with this song or was perhaps inadvertantly included in a zip at some point. |
