Cool song. Let me know what you think.

2nd mix is up.

I like how the vocals stand out in your mix. Frequency analysis spectrum looks fairly good, kick drum sounds quite thick despite the fact that there isn't that much low frequency content.
Striving for separation and analysing spectrum of every instrument is always good.
Verdict: it's all relative and subjective especially in music mixing, if it suits your needs then that's all you need.

Any criticism appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

Good mix. Good balance, maybe the vocals are a bit too loud ?
Cymbals and hats are very harsh. Did you use a deesser on them ?

So good job here Smile

Thanks. No deesser. I tamed the cymbals and turned the vocals down in my second mix.

Hi, nice work on your mix! You've got a really well-controlled, punchy mix. My only real comment is to ask if you have any kind of 'enhancement' on the track, like a BBE Sonic Enhancer/Exciter? I feel like it's giving the overall track a certain colour, which may be what Mandubien was picking up on with his comments about vocal loudness and cymbal harshness. I don't particularly like that high frequency 'presence' that's there, but it might just be me?

Certainly the balance of the track is working really well, although maybe a bit light on for low mids overall? Great balancing of instruments (including vocals). I like the way you've treated the guitars - I'm still working on how best to give guitars 'presence' in a mix. I like your drum sound.

Cheers.
