Preach right here mix - Obelix - 16-09-2014 This song was harder to mix than I thought it would be. I think that the backing vocal does not sit well in the mix, while other things sound verry good. RE: Preach right here mix - jimbo12308 - 10-04-2015 I really like the acoustic guitar sound, I think it sounds nicely panned. To my ears (which aren't very well trained) the choruses seems a bit flat and bass heavy, like its lacking energy. Maybe more guitars and/or drum overheads in the mix? Also, did you heavily compress or automate the vocals? I noticed that the level of the really intimate vocals in that quiet ambient bridge section seem pretty equal to the loud vocals in the chorus immediately afterwards, which sounded a bit unnatural and took some power away from the vocals in the chorus in my opinion. I'm just a mixing noob myself, so take all of that with a grain of salt, but that's what I heard. RE: Preach right here mix - Cagusir - 30-04-2015 I did like the job on the acustic guitar... There is something wrong with the compression, maybe a little bit too much and try to add some bright perhaps (I think you put the overheads very behind)... But as I said, the acustic guitar sounds very good. |
