I'm Alright first time - JustinvO - 15-08-2014

Hello everyone,

I'm started mixing about 6 months ago. I really like to do it in my spare time. When I came across this site, I heard this song. Here's my go on it.

I used Studio One with stock plugins.

Let me now your honest opinion!

Greetings,

Justin(Holland)

Hi !

Well, I find your mix pretty good. Maybe a little bit muddy. I would add an EQ on the output and reduce a bit of 300-400 Hz.

I would prefer the guitar right in the middle during choruses. You can use automation for this.

Anyway, pretty good job Smile

Balance sounds good. Likewise the panning of various instruments to use the stereo field. The guitars are competing for the same frequency range, EQing for how they sound in the mix rather than individually is key with this song. The drums are a little soft, a transient shaper would help there.
