A PLACE FOR US - JUAN OLIVA - JOLIVA - 27-07-2014 HI HERE IS MI MIX USING MONITORS EVENT 20/20 PRO TOOLS 10 UNIVERSAL AUDIO APOLLO UNIVERSAL AUDIO UAD2 CRITICS AND COMMENTS ARE WELCOMED! RE: A PLACE FOR US - JUAN OLIVA - Amphibian - 27-07-2014 - Too compressed, especially when the band comes in. This results in no dynamics. - Lead vocal is a bit muddy. Not enough air. - Levels are a bit unbalanced. Like for instance the rhythm guitars. They take too much space. + Vocal is clearly audible. + I really like the ending. + Piano has a great level. Really needs more eq on the tracks to get them to all fit in. Might even be a good idea to use fewer, ex drums. Lot of 150 to 500 to my ears. The mix kind of reminded me of some late 80's early 90's style. Kinda cool. I could see the direction you were going and I think it works and will sound nice once cleaned up. |
