MIX NOTES
  • Had fun exploring this one and listening to the other mixes uploaded here
  • Obviously kept a light touch on EQ, compression, and saturation on the track, group, and mix bus layers
  • Tried to focus on inverse gain/cut EQ relationships between instrument groups
  • Kept EQ moves at +/-2db max to restrict myself
  • For the Overhead, Strings, and Voice groups I tried to keep any compression at -1db gain reduction max and some LA2A leveling
  • Referencing the mixes I listened to I think the leveling and panning of the mics is the biggest factor (pretty much a blanket statement but eh can't emphasize it enough!).
  • Also next time I will try to play more with the hi-end (2kz and up) as there's likely more room for distinction and separation than I did this time.
