I'm in an experimental stage, playing with dynamic ranges. I hope you like this mix.

It still needs some work in a few places,

The stereo chorus on the vocals is neat idea.. though, it's making the lead vocal sound sibilant in places.. and since your mix is quite dark overall, the sibilance is more noticeable in that context.

as well.. the shaker is bright and hot compared to the other elements in the mix.

Before the 2nd verse starts,
the dulcimer drops out for a second or so.. it sounds like a editing mistake ??

As previously mentioned,
your mix is very dark sounding.. not much clarity, bottom end is also quite muddy.
the bass guitar is too dominant.

your choice of compression seems quite ok overall..
but if you don't clean things up and make the tracks cohesive in clarity first, dynamic compression will just make it worse for ya.

For what it is worth.. those are my thoughts for you to improve upon this mix.

cheers

Marc
