Joe's Bar BCink Mix - BCink - 03-12-2023 Hello everyone, This was a pretty cool song. I've been using less and less of the "analog" plugins lately, but this song kind of made me want to work only with the analog plugins. I did it in two stages, and I know it's fairly convoluted, but it was kind of fun. I did a tracking stage and then a mix stage. I put a 1073 plugin and a Studer tape plugin on every track did a quick pass to get things in a good place and then I froze those tracks. I then bussed tracks down (Kick to one track, Snare to one, Toms to one stereo, etc.). After that I used API Legacy to do the main mixing stage. I used only analog modeled plugins except for a couple of areas where I used Pro-Q3 to do some surgery. The mix buss started with API preamps and then Pro-C2 (not sure why I stayed with that) into Ampex tape, Inflator, and then L2 on the heater. It was a lot of fun and pretty quick. I know there is a lot more to do to this one, but I did what I could with the time I had today. Let me know what you think, or what I can do better. Also, I know that the plugins are less than half the battle. There are some fundamentals that I'm still working on. Thanks! Brandon |
