Never Let You Go - Trey Hollenbeck - 06-04-2023 This is a mix I did for my college mixing class RE: Never Let You Go - Roy - 07-04-2023 I don't hate it. I think the parts with the vocal work just fine. And I appreciate the dynamics but... Those sections where everything goes off just get completely squished. The room it exists in can't fit it. That feels like an error. I can't really say at the moment and I suspect it's a lot of low end but whatever it is those sections need to be tamed. I'm guessing there's a lot of energy in the 50-60hz range eating up a lot of real-estate and making a mix bus compressor angry. It all works up until about a minute and then I'm not hearing the song as much as what you're doing to the mix. And that's not the job. |
